My father ran a company involving sheet metal works, who untimely passed away while I was still immature in skill. I had to acquire sheet metal technology, as a matter of course, as well as management of company. However I found it necessary to have other different technologies, too, thinking that life was not easy to live on only sheet metal works.
I happened to see on TV a report on the craftsman involving apray art by air brush. It was an exciting work good enough to induce me to take the job. I came to know that there was a class teaching air brush in Ishikawa Pref. I could easily go to the place for training if the predecessor was alive. However, since I already took over all necessary jobs and I had to learn things intensively in a short time, packed up necessay things and went to the place to learn basic matters desparately. After coming back home, I devoted myself to practice but it took half year to get result satisfactory to a certain extent. Fortunately I involved in automotive jobs, I had plenty of painting materials and made drills repeatedly in a way as painting, wiping out then painting again and again on the waste of cars.
It was necessay for me to push ahead with drills to acquire techniques soonest possible. If we have technique to draw by brush, we can draw in the way as the background by brush and the main pattern by air brush. It is important to have areas of speciality based on various technical backbones. I want to acquire the latest related techniques. If craftsmen do not have such an attitude, they may not be able to develope their carriers as a craftsman.
Nowadays, thankfully I have some people who want to learn how to do air brushing from me. I teach them with pleasure since I was originally taught by teachers. It should be my roll to teach others to come next. Drawing by myself and teaching others are different from each other. Even now, I use a process of trial and error over and over to have trainees acquire technique with enjoyment.
My atelier has a class to teach the way of doing air brush, accepting wide range of students from beginners to those who have experience in this line before. Wonderful thing of air brush is that everyone can draw pictures and make people say "Striking !" if he or she has a lot of practice without giving up. I support those who got my teaching free of charge until they can draw satisfactory pictures. I really feel happy to see that their skill is improved. I believe it my role to hand down this fascinating air brush to the next generation with a hope to see many people come to feel happy with air brush.
The art work is not the first to come in air brush. It is the person to come first because the job is approved only if orders from customers are given. I am really thankful to customers who bring me orders trusting in my job. I work every day with an aim to have such a place as referred to by customers with a remark "AIR BRUSH ATELIER may be able to do it" when they are in difficulties.
Meeting with people is something very valuable. I never fail to send letters of thanks to those who ordered jobs for air brush and sheet metal works as well as those whom I exchanged name cards with. It may be a small thoughtfullness but there may not be many who write to all. I will continue sending message of my thanks as one of the ways to convey my thanks.
